Obituary

Ricardo Juan Orta, 90, of Rancho Cucamonga, entered the loving arms of our Savior Jesus Christ on January 10, 2025.

Ricardo was born on March 8, 1934, in Havana, Cuba. He proudly served in the Cuban Navy in 1953 before finding his calling as a lighthouse painter. In pursuit of a brighter future, he migrated to the United States following his son, Orestes Orta and Orestes' mother, Andrea Oneida, in 1969. He later built a meaningful career as an Environmental Specialist at Queen of Angels Hospital in Los Angeles, where his dedication left a lasting impact.

Ricardo married Cristina Creasy in 1971, and their union was richly blessed with his step-children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren who filled his life with joy and purpose.

He is survived by his brother in Cuba, Leopold0 Eddy Orta; his biological son, Orestes Orta; daughter-in-law, Nancy Orta; granddaughter, Crystal Orta Mejia; and stepchildren Frances, Yadira, Gustavo, and Xenia. He leaves behind a legacy of love in his 13 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Ricardo cherished time spent with family, which brought him immense happiness. His faith was a cornerstone of his life, and he found a spiritual home at Iglesia de Nazarenos in Rancho Cucamonga. There, he deepened his love for God, forged meaningful friendships, and embraced his devotion to the Word of God.

Ricardo's warmth, faith, and love for his community will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew him. His lighthouse will remain illuminating within our hearts forever.
